NANDIX: the AI business engine for India's trade businesses
NANDIX is one intelligent system to run, automate and grow a business, with an AI that works like a digital employee. We start with hardware retailers and their distributors, the hardest counters to run, and build outward across retail, distribution and trade.
In one paragraph: NANDIX is a company from India building an AI business engine for small trade businesses. The product is built: GST billing, inventory, customer credit, collections, a shared ledger between shops and distributors, staff roles, GST filing reminders with CA-ready reports, screens in 10 languages, and an AI agent (NX) that works like a digital employee: it talks with the owner in Indian languages, answers from the business's own data (sales, profit and loss, margins, dues), does routine work after a person confirms, and briefs the owner every morning and evening. It is in a free private pilot with hardware retailers. NANDIX is open to conversations with angel investors, early-stage funds and strategic partners. It has not announced any funding, customers or revenue.
The problem
Most small trade businesses in India still run on notebooks, memory and phone calls, or on billing software that only prints the bill. The owner carries everything else: which items are running out, which contractor owes money and for how long, what is owed to each distributor, what staff did today. Hardware and building-material shops have this at its hardest: thousands of items in many sizes and units, contractors who buy on credit, and distributors who supply on credit too. Every gap shows up as lost cash.
What NANDIX is
One system for how the business runs, with an AI agent on top:
- Operations: GST billing and quotations, inventory that moves with every bill and purchase, customer credit and collections, supplier dues, staff logins with role limits, and reports for the accountant.
- Network: shops and their distributors share one ledger, orders, catalogs and live stock availability, so both sides see the same numbers.
- AI agent (NX): the owner or staff talk to NANDIX in their own language to add stock, customers or payments. NX asks for missing details, warns before costly mistakes (for example a selling price below cost), reads supplier bills and catalogs from photos, and saves nothing until a person confirms.
- NX as the owner's analyst: "Which products sold most in the last six months?", "What was my profit last month?", "Who owes me the most?" are answered from the business's own records. A morning brief and a day-closing report come with advice on what to do next.
- GST and the accountant: reminders before every GST due date, and CA-ready reports and invoices in one tap.
Where we are
The store app, the distributor app and the NX AI agent are built and in a free private pilot with hardware retailers. A product demo is available on request.
Trust
Each business's data is kept separate, staff see only what their role allows, and every release is security-tested before it goes out. Bills can be made even when the internet drops.
Why now
- GST made proper invoices and records part of everyday business for registered shops.
- UPI made digital payments normal at the smallest counters.
- Affordable Android phones put a capable computer in every shop owner's pocket.
- AI can now understand everyday speech in Indian languages, so software can work for owners who would rather talk than type.
Why NANDIX can win
- Built for the hardest counter first. A system that handles hardware (many sizes, units, credit and distributors) handles most trade businesses.
- The network, not just the shop. When a shop and its distributor share one ledger, each new distributor can bring its shops and each shop can bring its distributors.
- An AI employee, not another dashboard. NX does routine work by voice in the owner's language, with checks before anything is saved.
- Trust by design. Each business sees only its own data; staff see only what their role allows; credit information is shared across stores only with the customer's consent.
Where it goes
Hardware retail is the beachhead. The same engine (operations, network and AI agent) is designed to extend to other retail, distribution and trade businesses, and over time to services built on the network, such as better credit decisions and supply between businesses. These are plans, not current products.
Business model
A monthly subscription per business after the free pilot, with plans for shops and for distributors. Pricing is being validated with pilot shops, and every shop is told the price before the pilot ends.

Investor questions
What does NANDIX do?
NANDIX is an AI business engine: one system to run, automate and grow a business, covering billing, inventory, customer credit, collections, distributor ledgers and staff, with an AI agent (NX) that works by voice in Indian languages. It starts with hardware retailers and their distributors in India.
Is NANDIX raising investment?
NANDIX is open to early-stage investment conversations with angels, funds and strategic partners. It has not announced any funding. Contact us at prakash@nandix.app.
Why start with hardware stores?
Hardware and building-material shops are among the hardest small businesses to run: thousands of items in many sizes, contractors on credit and distributors on credit. Solving them well creates a foundation for other retail, distribution and trade businesses.
How is NANDIX different from billing apps?
Billing apps record the sale. NANDIX connects billing, stock, credit and distributor ledgers in one system, shares one ledger between a shop and its distributors, and adds an AI agent that does routine work by voice with checks before saving.
